We’re starting the year on a high note with a three-week residency by Laurence Petitpas, joined by Yana Ouellet and Marcelle Hudon. Together, they are working on L’avalement des contours.

In 2024, Laurence Petitpas and Yana Ouellet travelled to Norway for a two-month creative residency at Fossekleiva kultursenter in Berger, as part of our Norway–Quebec exchange residency, made possible with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.

Two years later, we are delighted to welcome them back to La Fabrique de théâtre insolite, where, day and night, forms are taking shape, transforming and evolving as they refine their creation.

Very soon, L’avalement des contours will make its way back to Norway to take part in the international Figur i Fossekleiva festival.

At the intersection of installation and theatricality, the work unfolds as a living landscape inhabited by puppets, presences, sounds and suspended structures. Scales shift and perspectives change. The infinitely small meets the immense. What once seemed inanimate suddenly appears to be alive.

Through a reflection on the Anthropocene and the sixth mass extinction, L’avalement des contours invites us to shift our gaze toward other forms and dimensions of life, within a world that is both tangible and surreal.

There is something precious about seeing a work shaped by this exchange residency return within our walls, just before it crosses the Atlantic once again.
