UN OCÉAN D’AMOUR

An Ocean of Love, an epic, poetic, and puppet-filled odyssey, is a stage adaptation of the comic book by Grégory Panaccione and Wilfrid Lupano. We are plunged into a burlesque adventure that deals with love and routine, the passing of time, loneliness, pollution, consumer society, storms and surf, and insignificant thoughts that become big ideas.

Two employees in gray smocks, working in some obscure government office, spend their days making paper boats. As they fold the paper, they dive into a quirky universe where paper in all its forms gives free rein to their imagination. These two big kids then take us on a burlesque adventure that takes place off the coast of Brittany.

La Salamandre is a renowned French company that also runs an artist residency. Their venue is called “l’Hopitau; laboratoire des arts de la marionnette” and is located in the town of La Chapelle-sur-Erdre. The company is coming to Quebec at the invitation of the Casteliers International Festival to perform in several theaters across the province. They are coming to Trois-Rivières specifically to visit our venue and discuss creative spaces with Les Sages Fous!
