PETITS PAINS OUBLIÉS : EXPEDITION QUÉBEC
Coproduction Créatures Cie (France) / Les Sages Fous
A surreal and poetic journey into the history of a lost civilization. The most fantastic archaeological, ethnographic, and mythological discovery of anthropomorphic cookies.
You are invited to enter a mysterious little fairground tent. A sign on the door reads “Museum,” but this museum is unlike any other.
Inside, a certified guide invites you to follow him to discover the traces of a forgotten civilization that spread across both sides of the Atlantic. This civilization, obsessed with ritual baking, left behind an abundance of anthropomorphic cookies.
The show is presented in the form of a cabinet of curiosities where each item (collections of art objects, tools, precious relics) is displayed in small wooden theaters, under glass cases, or on sculpted pedestals. Each object bears witness to a great archaeological discovery.
This exhibition has been presented in France since 2004, under the supervision of CréatureS Compagnie, to audiences fascinated by anthropomorphic biscuits.
In partnership with Les Sages Fous, new excavations have been carried out in Quebec. An astonishing civilization is believed to have crossed the Atlantic even before the Vikings, aboard boats made of puff pastry and waterproofed with a whipped cream-based mortar. An entire barter system developed around dry biscuits, which the nations of the St. Lawrence Valley were particularly fond of. These discoveries, which are fundamental to the history of our continent, will be presented exclusively in America.
