CREATION CYCLE – MINUSCULE ET GRANDIOSE
LES SAGES FOUS
Les Sages Fous are opening a new chapter with Minuscule et Grandiose (2024-2029), a cycle of creations woven into the very fabric of a place: the former Récollets Saint-James convent, now a palace of fairground mirrors. Here, the architecture whispers, the walls breathe, and the puppet, changing scale, becomes a lens through which to view the world. A visual ritual will come to life in the bowels of the building—a permanent spectacle, between shadow and light, celebration and contemplation.
From this matrix, other forms will emerge: Indoor gardens, dreamlike plant ceremonies in abandoned places; Le Vivarium, a pocket-sized chimera recounting its fragile existence; and finally Le Carrousel entomologique, a fairground fantasy for young and old alike, spinning between chimeras and giant insects.
This cycle is a journey in which slow movement, matter, silence, and dreams reclaim their rights in a world that moves too fast.

We began the initial stages of work on this creative cycle at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center (USA) in 2023 and presented a series of performances at the Fabrique de théâtre insolite in 2024.
