Incarnations transitoires is a creative project that has been underway since fall 2021. On the one hand, it revolves around the desire to explore the dramaturgical potential of material theater, focusing on large volumes of raw materials. On the other hand, it stems from the desire to set a body in motion in relation to these materials that come to life and transform. The idea is to transpose and externalize fleeting but pervasive inner states into moving masses that interact with the body in ways that are sometimes abstract, poetic, and playful. This proposal for living art without words, inspired in particular by the metamorphoses of the plant world, does not require linear understanding and seeks to connect with the imagination and sensitivity.
It is a fairly intuitive stage work that draws on contemporary puppetry, physical theater, and dance, accompanied by live sound and music.
The subjects addressed mainly revolve around mental and physical health, identity in metamorphosis (gender, age, ability), and the relationship to the environment in destruction. In this last regard, the materials used evoke overpackaging and overproduction. It is also important to me that the materials can be reused from one rehearsal or performance to the next, meaning that they are not transformed to the point of being destroyed.
